Dr. Zana Nikolla is board certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She studied Medicine at the University of Tirana, Albania and finished a fellowship in Gastroenterology, practicing gastroenterology in Albania before moving to the United States.
Dr. Nikolla completed the Internal Medicine Residency at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, NY and was chosen to serve as Chief Resident. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Bridgeport Hospital, Yale New Haven School of Medicine. During her fellowship, Dr. Nikolla presented at several gastroenterology meetings and has published in prestigious journals.
Dr. Nikolla has a special interest in GI Motility which led her to pursue further training in the field. She was granted a Motility fellowship from the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, which she successfully completed at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Nikolla is interested in general gastroenterology and specifically in motility disorders of the esophagus and the gut. She strives to offer excellent care to her patients focusing on their well-being and creating wonderful relationships with them. Dr. Nikolla is fluent in several languages including Albanian, Italian and Spanish which helps her communicating directly to her patients.
