Prostate Cancer Walk a Great Success!

On Saturday, September 24th over 450 people attended the 7th Annual Premier Cares Foundation Prostate Cancer Walk over the beautiful Walkway Over the Hudson, enjoying breathtaking view on a perfect fall morning. The Walk raised $75,000 to help Hudson Valley patients, with financial challenges, who are battling prostate cancer and other urological and gastrointestinal diseases. The event kicked off with Kelsey Lee, the recent WRWD Country Showdown winner, singing the National Anthem, followed by the incredible Amerscot Highland Pipe Band leading the walkers over the bridge! Walkers enjoyed a beautiful array of refreshments all donated by local vendors and had opportunities to try their hand with the daVinci robot, speak with local prostate cancer survivors, and mingle with family and friends. In addition, multiple pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies and awareness groups, as well as physicians, were on hand to provide information and educational materials about prostate cancer.  Ken Swain, a prostate cancer survivor, shared his inspirational story from diagnosis to recovery, followed by the ever popular team fundraising awards and raffle!
