Prepopik Colonoscopy Preparation (Split Dose)

Purchase Prepopik (prescription) at your pharmacy. Follow these instructions the day prior and the morning of your procedure.

Step One: On the day of your appointment, someone must accompany you to the office or hospital.

Step Two: If you have a colostomy please bring in an extra stoma bag. If you are diabetic, please check with your physician regarding insulin and oral diabetic medication regimen.

Step Three: If you require antibiotics before going to the dentist or for a heart murmur, valvular disease, or joint replacement, please inform us.

Diet & Liquid Preparation Instructions 

Step One: This morning start drinking clear fluids and continue till bedtime (a list of clear fluids will be provided with these instructions) NO RED, PURPLE OR ORANGE.

Step Two: (1st dose) At 7:00 pm fill the dosing cup provided with cold water up to the lower (5 oz) line on the cup.

Step Three: Pour in the contents of ONE (1) packet. Stir for 2-3 minutes until dissolved. Drink the entire contents immediately.

Step Four: Follow with FIVE (5) 8-ounce drinks of clear liquid, taken at your own pace within the next five (5) hours, before bedtime.

*NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT except for instructions below:

Step One: (2nd dose)-FIVE (5) hours before your procedure, fill the dosing cup provided with cold water up to the lower (5oz line) on the cup.

Step Two: Pour in the contents of ONE (1) packet. Stir for 2-3 minutes until dissolved. Drink the entire contents immediately.

Step Three: Follow with at least THREE (3) 8-ounce drinks of clear liquid up to FOUR (4) hours before your procedure. Nothing by mouth after  _____ Time.
