Just a Mole? Or is it Skin Cancer?

Did you know that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer during their lifetime. Fortunately, when diagnosed early, most forms of skin cancer can be treated with a good prognosis.

Premier’s Dermatology division specializes in diagnosing and treating all forms of skin cancer, as well as addressing the unique dermatological needs of patients.

We encourage patients to have regular full-body exams to detect any growths as early as possible, as well as establish a baseline and familiarity with any skin markings.

Premier Dermatology is well-equipped with the latest technologies and offers advanced treatments in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for a wide range of skin conditions ranging from common skin problems, skin allergies to complex skin issues like skin cancer.

Premier’s Dermatology division now offers Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for the treatment of Actinic Keratoses.

Actinic keratoses (AK) are growths that are pre-cancerous cells. Although not all progress to become skin cancer, we try to remove them in order to prevent this from happening.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) uses light or laser energy to act against precancerous cells (actinic keratosis).

PDT is approved by the FDA for the treatment of actinic keratosis, which is considered precancerous.  When PDT is used to treat actinic keratosis, more than 80% of patients respond after 1 to 2 treatments, one month apart.

PDT for actinic keratosis may be covered by your insurance.  To learn more about Photodynamic Therapy, please call our office 845-451-7272
