Uroflow

Your doctor has asked you to perform an Uroflow study at your next visit.

The Uroflow study measures:

  • the amount of urine in the bladder
  • how long it takes to urinate
  • how fast the urine comes out

If you have any further questions, notify us at 845-437-5000.  Thank you.

Prior to Study

Come with your bladder comfortably full. The test is most accurate when you feel a strong urge to urinate. The speed of urination is many times related to the volume of urine in your bladder.

Drink 3-4 eight-ounce glasses of fluid approximately one to one and a half hours before your test time.

If you find it difficult to come with a full bladder, you may come approximately 15 minutes early and complete the hydrating process (you will not be able to drink the full required amount of water in 15 minutes, you must begin at home).

PLEASE DO NOT EMPTY YOUR BLADDER BEFORE SEEING THE NURSE.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW PREPARATION FOR UROFLOW MAY RESULT IN THE STUDY BEING RESCHEDULED.
