Biography

Dr. Robert S. Dean is board certified in Gastroenterology and joined the practice in 2002. Dr. Dean completed medical school at The Chicago Medical School, and went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowships at The Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Dean strives to provide the most up-to-date gastroenterology care in a compassionate manner for his patients.

With his special training and expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, this goal is achieved with minimal trauma to the individual.  He has been involved in the research and development of many new, less invasive medical devices, with both private industry and academic medical centers. Finding time for the community, Dr. Dean is past Vice-President of the medical staff at St. Francis Hospital.  He currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Medical Staff of VBMC and is Chairman of the Credentials Committee of VBMC.  He joined the practice in 2002.

Dr. Dean was recently selected, by his peers in the medical community, to the prestigious 2021 Castle Connelly “Top Doctors” list.
