Important Notice For Our Cigna Patients – Changes to Cigna Coverage at Premier Medical Group

Beginning July 1, 2026, Premier Medical Group providers and facilities will no longer be considered in-network with Cigna.

As your healthcare provider, we want to ensure that all patients with Cigna coverage understand what this means for their care.

What This Means for You

  • This change may impact your coverage.
  • Depending on your specific plan, you may be responsible for higher, out-of-network costs when seeing your Premier provider.
  • We strongly encourage you to contact Cigna directly (using the number on your insurance card) to learn how your plan will cover services received from Premier during this time.

Our Commitment to You

At Premier, your health and well-being remain our top priority.

  • For more than 15 years, Premier Medical Group has proudly served as a trusted provider for Cigna members. However, our current agreement no longer reflects the rising costs associated with delivering the high-quality care our patients deserve.
  • We have been engaged in active negotiations with Cigna over the past two months but have unfortunately been unable to reach a mutually agreeable contract to date.
  • After July 1, 2026, you can continue to rely on Premier for the high-quality care you deserve, though your out-of-pocket costs may be higher.

Your Care Matters. Here are Answers to Common Questions About This Change:

Which Cigna insurance plans are impacted?

  • All Cigna commercial plans including Great West, Wellnet, Health Partners, ASR Health Benefits, Tufts, EverNorth, and Cigna Medicare Advantage plans.

How will my coverage change if Premier Medical Group is no longer in-network with Cigna?

  • We remain committed to providing the care you need. After July 1, 2026, you can continue to see your providers at Premier Medical Group on an out-of-network basis. Please be aware that, if Premier is out of network with Cigna, the amount your plan covers may be reduced, and your out-of-pocket costs could increase. For details about your specific coverage, we encourage you to contact Cigna directly by calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card.

If I have an impacted Cigna plan, what do I do if I have an appointment scheduled after July 1, 2026?

  • We will be here to provide the care you need, and, after July 1st, you can continue to access Premier Medical Group on an out-of-network basis. It is important that you know that the amount Cigna covers and what you may have to pay out of pocket for services received from Premier Medical Group would likely increase if Premier Medical Group is out-of-network with Cigna. Please contact Cigna directly for further information related to your specific plan coverage.

How will my claim be processed after July 1st  if Premier Medical Group is out of network with Cigna?

  • Starting July 1, 2026, Premier will no longer be able to submit claims to Cigna on your behalf. Payment will be collected at the time of service, and we will provide you with a detailed receipt and itemized statement so you can file your claim directly with Cigna.

Whom should I call with questions?

  • Please call the phone number on the back of your Cigna ID card if you have any questions about how this would affect your access to the care team you know and trust.
